NEWS:

Forthcoming 30 year survey exhibition titled "Pathways" opens at Newcastle Regional Art Gallery
23/5/03 to 13/7/03

"Pathways" was previously shown at Bathurst Regional Art Gallery 11th October to 24th November. A conference was held in conjunction with the exhibition, called "Working the Surface". A number of invited ceramic artists lectured and gave demonstrations. The works seen in the Pathways gallery on this website are some of the pieces that have been selected by Gillian McCraken (curator of the exhibition) laid out for viewing of the 100 plus works.

CV AND STATEMENT:

Greg Daly is a ceramic artist resident of the Cowra district. A member of the International Academy of Ceramics - Geneva, he is a ceramicist of national and international standing with works in national and over 20 international galleries / museums. The work itself is based on the vessel, be it a vase, platter or bowl which is decorated with rich glazes and/ or lustres, gold & silver leaf and enamels that further enrich the surface.

"I have concern for the whole piece - throwing, finishing, glazing, firing, decorating are all important to me in the creation of the work. Images, illusions of surface and the form they are placed upon create individual works".
